Finally, a Feel-Good Hummer . . .

In early November I referenced a list of green cars under development or in concept. These were entered into a contest for best environmentally-friendly concept at the L.A. Auto Show. Yesterday, a winner was announced. And you wouldn’t believe it but the winner is a Hummer - the Hummer O2, specifically. You heard me right boy! And here it is:

Purty, ain’t it? According to the article:
The GM vision for the futuristic Hummer concept includes an algae-filled body shell, designed to shed oxygen, that also opens up like leaves on a stem to catch sunlight when parked. The concept sketch, which was produced by GM’s West Coast Advanced Design Studio, shows the Hummer riding on an aluminum shell and powered by a hydrogen tank and fuel cells.
Kerkorian, you sold your shares too early! GM may not even exist in its current form by the time this bad boy hits the streets but kudos for trying. The other designs shown in the slideshow referenced above are equally cool. Check them out. How much fun does that green-wheeled go-cart look to drive?!
